Baby-Friendly Hatha Yoga

These classes are therapeutic and designed to support women at different stages of healing postpartum. We focus on rebuilding function and confidence in the body, helping to re-develop strength with movement. Whether you are new to yoga or a long-time practitioner, you will gain practical knowledge of how to use yoga and movement to support your body, your life and your healing and learn how to gauge your personal readiness for different movements and activities.

You can expect to learn how to:

  • find or rediscover a functional breath which integrates more core structures of the body;

  • build strength, function and reflexes in the core and pelvic floor;

  • modify movements as needed to reduce stress on the postpartum body;

  • build back up to pre-pregnancy activities and confidence in the body;

  • use foundational principles for healthy movement as you begin to incorporate your favourite or new activities back into your life;

  • manage the effects of caring for a baby (soreness, stiffness, stress, exhaustion)

This class is informal and very baby-friendly (pre-walkers), but feel free to come with or without your baby. There are many willing hands and hearts to help you with child care.

Pre-registration is recommended as space is limited. You may join in the middle of a session or drop in* if there is space. Please contact me for more information.
